Bundle up and get out there!

The winter offers an enormous amount of activities. Cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, and sledding are just some of the things to do here in the winter.
The skiing offered at Sugarbush, Mount Ellen, and Mad River Glen is some of the best in the Northeast. With a vast assortment of trails, each mountain provides something unique for all skiers. With an average of 262 inches of snow per year, there is no shortage of fresh powder.
Snowboarding is one of the major reasons people come to the Valley. Sugarbush and Mount Ellen offer some amazing trails and parks for snowboarders of all levels.
Warren is home to some of the best cross-country skiing in central Vermont. With an abundance of trails circling the area, there is plenty of terrain to keep any skier busy for weeks. As with downhill skiing and snowboarding, there are several local rental shops for those without their own XC gear.
Snowmobiling takes place all around the Mad River Valley and central Vermont. Trails seem to follow their own path and really show a different side of the Valley.
