The Staff Part III: Everything Will Be OKaylie

Meet Kaylie, our intrepid dishwasher.

Here are some interesting things to know about Kaylie:

  • Unlike most people in the valley, who have been skiing since they were 2,* she has been skiing since she was one and a half, and let me tell you that extra work she put in really paid off. Just a monster on the slopes.
  • She is currently in high school, where her favorite subjects are math and gym. Wait, I think those were my favorite subjects. I don’t know what her favorite subjects are.
  • She might have a bad memory. The only evidence I have of this is that Giles likes to remind her that she’s in high school, which is something I always remembered when I was in high school. Giles could have a bad memory. We just don’t know.

Unfortunately for us, we are losing Kaylie this week. She is about to embark on a school trip to go school-building in Rwanda, which is both the second awesomest and second craziest thing I have heard today. Cesare volunteered to fill in while she’s gone. If you’ve ever seen him lick a plate, you’ll know that our dishware will be not just clean, but squeaky clean over the next few weeks.

*Whenever people say this to me it makes me feel very inadequate. I can barely think of anything I’ve been doing since I was 2. Sleeping. Tripping over things, maybe. (Can 2 year olds even walk? I actually don’t know the answer to this.) Eating solid food? Nope, I’ve been on a smoothies and beer diet recently.
